EcoProtect by Carlucci
Innovative products
With the label EcoProtect by CARLUCCI we distinguish innovative products that combine exclusive lifestyle with the good feeling of doing the right thing in a thoughtful way.
The focus is on sustainable textiles that are manufactured with special consideration for our planet. At the same time, these high-quality materials bear the unique CARLUCCI signature.
EcoProtect products have many facets with which we make our contribution to a better future. Essential factors are resource conservation and recycling, through which we save valuable raw materials, water and energy. In addition, we pay special attention to natural materials and our high quality standards. This range of responsible behaviour is constantly being expanded. This is just the beginning.
With EcoProtect by CARLUCCI, we are taking on the challenge of reducing our ecological footprint step by step.
In this year's Carlucci collection, we have thoroughly expanded our portfolio of sustainable textiles from the EcoProtect by CARLUCCI and added additional aspects. This is how we have broadened our scope to effectively conserve resources and gradually reduce our ecological footprint – and, of course, always in our casual elegant CARLUCCI look.
Our EcoProtect by the CARLUCCI strategy is based on the following cornerstones:
Recycling
ORGANIC
For our organic linens and cottons, we use controlled natural yarns from organic farming, which completely avoids hazardous additives such as synthetic fertilisers or pesticides and the use of genetic engineering. In addition, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced and water consumption is significantly lower. The use of traditional seeds also improves working conditions and protects biodiversity. Due to their natural origin, the products are of course biodegradable. This protects people's health and the environment. To be marked with the EcoProtect label, the proportion of organic fibres must be at least 50% or more.
LYOCELL
Lyocell is a regenerated cellulose fibre. The primary raw material for Lyocell is the rapidly regrowing and highly productive eucalyptus wood. Sustainably produced wood from certified and controlled cultivation areas is used for TENCEL™ Lyocell. In the particularly environmentally friendly Lyocell production, only one organic solvent is used. The process water is then recycled and more than 99% of the solvent is returned to the production cycle. Lyocell fibres are biodegradable and compostable. They are also moth resistant without the addition of chemicals and reduce bacterial and mite growth. Furthermore, they have the highest strength among regenerated cellulose fibres.
BCI - COTTON
The BCI seal stands for the Better Cotton Initiative, which emerged from an action group on sustainability led by the international nature and environmental protection organisation WWF. This initiative is about developing sustainable solutions for conventional cotton production that benefit the farmers themselves, the environment and society in general. To this end, Better Cotton producers are trained in the sustainable management of their cotton fields and are subsequently required to comply with guidelines regarding water efficiency, soil protection, the use of pesticides, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity and thus the protection of natural habitats, as well as fair working conditions.
NAIATM by Eastman
The innovative NaiaTM yarn imbues fabrics with a luxurious, nearly pearlescent lustre. It is derived as a cellulose filament from certified, sustainably grown eucalyptus and pine wood. This makes it completely natural and biodegradable. It is produced in the USA in a closed loop, protects the environment and consumes very little water. The fibre is super soft and quick-drying It allows the pile of velour to quickly bounce back and ensures a high level of stability, which is also reflected in its high Martindale rating.
